Balamara Limousin & Angus Stud was established as a joint family venture between Michael and his parents John and Misha. Foundation Limousin Females were purchased approximately 16 years ago with the aim of producing docile, structurally sound, good calving ease and high growth terminal sires.
Some years later, a prominent Angus Stud was purchased with the focus being on fertility, reproduction and structural confirmation to complement our existing Balamara Limousin terminal sire program.
Through experience, global genetic procurement and collaborative work with some of the industry’s best, we developed our enterprise to focus on the production of new generation, industry relevant sires based on the interactions between genetics and environment.
In short, our overarching breeding objective is to:
‘Optimize client production systems by securing genetics that will improve production performance
in real working conditions’.
To achieve the Balamara Limousin & Angus Stud objective, a holistic approach has been adopted beginning from the ground up with careful consideration of soil health, provision of multi-species pastures for grazing and a holistic approach to manage animal health, welfare and production from conception to sale date.
Our genetic selections have been driven by consumer demand with docility at the forefront.
We welcome any opportunity to work alongside clients to ensure their needs are met. This includes sourcing genetics globally to deliver superior outcross pedigrees that combine performance and functionality, ultimately driving profitability.
